FAQs About Our Custom Steel Bicycles

Torelli Bicycle Company: Custom Steel Bicycles

Why Trust Torelli Over Other Custom Bicycle Brands?

You won’t find another kind of handmade Italian steel frame that matches our level of quality, craftsmanship, and personalization at an attainable price. We customize each machine we build to every customer’s unique needs and specifications, and all our frames are manufactured by artisan craftsmen in Italy. Through our consultative process, we’ll make sure that every part of your new custom steel bicycle is outfitted exactly how you want it to be and that it’s ready for all the challenges that you want to take on. And we’ll go the extra mile to provide educational insights about the ride, fit, design, material, and build, so that you walk, or ride, away with greater confidence in your investment in your dream machine.

Are Torelli Bike Frames TIG Welded or Lugged?

Our builder can follow either construction method on most bicycle models that we offer. We’ll talk through all the specifics of your Italian steel frame, whether it be a stock model or custom build, during your consultative call to ensure we’re aligned with your expectations.

How Does the Paint-on-Order Program Work?

Virtually every bicycle frame at Torelli is imported raw/unpainted. Our team will walk you through paint color palettes, paint schemes, decal colors, and decal placement options, and we’ll make personalized recommendations. From there, we’ll create a detailed rendering of your frame in Adobe Illustrator so you can see how the colors will be applied, where the decals will be placed, and visualize your future ride. If the rendering matches your expectations, we’ll custom paint your Torelli frame and fork in the shop of our master bicycle frame painter in Southern California. A single stock color paint finish with customized decal placement is included in the frame’s cost. All other paint customizations will be quoted during the paint rendering process.

What Materials are Used in the Building of Torelli Frames?

Torelli has a long-time partnership with Columbus, a division of Gruppo S.r.l. Columbus has been manufacturing steel tubes for bicycle frames since 1919 and is seen as the leading fabricator of high-precision steel tubes. All current frames at Torelli are built with Columbus tubes, and the primary Columbus tube sets used in building Torelli frames include Zona, Life, Spirit, and XCr stainless steel. You can read more on the history of Columbus by visiting Columbus1919.com.

Can I Buy a Complete Bicycle Through Torelli?

Absolutely! While we sell many frames and frame sets, we know that many consumers desire to purchase a complete bike that is ready to ride. We will work with you to determine the best options for components, cockpit, and wheels that suit your needs and budget, and bring your custom steel bicycle to life. We are partnered with top component and parts brands, and we ensure all components are compatible and will work flawlessly with your Italian steel frame. If you have existing parts that you want to use, we will work with you on that as well.

Your bicycle will be meticulously built, taking the time and striving for perfection. Nobody will build your Torelli like we will in our showroom/studio.

When Can I Visit the Torelli Showroom?

We allow customers to visit our showroom by appointment only, so please do not walk in. Contact us in advance to schedule an appointment with our team to see our showroom in California in person.
