September 3, 2008
We just got in a container of Italian goodies. Among them:
Torelli Triumph 32-hole clincher rims in black and silver. We also brought back gold Triumph rims. I know I am a biased source of information, but I think these are the finest rims money can buy.
Fall is coming so we dare not run out of Record embrocations. We have all of the warmths in stock: Medium ( Pregara), Hot (Pregara Forte), Waterproof (Impermeabile), Autumn conditions when the temperature can change (Kanadian). We also have the superb Record Dermalon chamois cream.
The 2009 Torelli Nitro Express is in stock as well as the Mondonico Spirit. I should have the Mondonico Spirit pictures and specs posted in a few days.
We also got in a got in a good stock of Torelli Selvino carbon framesets.

They are here! Our Tipo Uno fixed gear bikes are not only in our warehouse, lots of Torelli dealers now have them in stock. Everyone who has had the chance to see the bikes and accessories has been well and truly impressed.
We've got an abundance of riches. Parts have been flowing into our warehouse like crazy. We have almost everything in our catalog in stock. Stems, wheels, bars, frames it's all there.
We've had another notable addition to our line up. We've had lots of requests for silver wheels and we've had lots of requests for wheels with ceramic bearings. So..we made Torelli Bormio silver wheels with ceramic hybrid bearings. Ceramic hybrid bearings use ceramic balls and steel races. Suggested retail for Torelli Bormio Ceramic wheels is only $550.00. As soon as photography is done, I'll post them on our site.
We also got in our sealed bearing track wheels. They are all black. Very stealthy. Suggested retail is $285. Again, as soon as I get photos, I'll put them up on the site.
Because our Torino open tubular tire with the honey-colored sidewalls is very popular, we did a limited run of the higher-performance Arezzo with skinwalls. All of our open tubulars are now in stock.

Our resident track expert, Christian, has been working like a dog on our complete fixed-gear bike, the Torelli Tipo Uno. He's been spec'ing and re-spec'ing, chasing down the perfect parts, test-riding samples, until he was happy. We think the result is a bike that will knock your socks off. And it will knock your socks off for only $850.00 MSRP.
First of all, here's what the Tipo Uno looks like:

It's made with double-butted steel. The dropouts have integrated chain tensioners. It has a retro-panel flat paint job with quiet Torelli graphics that go with the colors. Everyone who has seen it finds it drop-dead gorgeous.
Here's where we really differ from the others. You can choose traditional (non-ergo) round track drop bars or bullhorn bars. Have your dealer let us know which and we'll ship the bike the way you want it.

What all this means is that we haven't cut any corners. Instead of buying a bike and doing an expensive parts change-out to get it the way you want it, the Tipo Uno is ready to roll, ready for that midnight ride.
We expect to have the Torelli Tipo Uno fixie bikes available to ship in June. Call your Torelli dealer and reserve one today.
Torelli Tipo Uno suggested retail price: $850.00
But wait, there's more!!
We've got a whole line of Tipo Uno accessories coming for that fixed-gear rider who wants the best.
The same saddle that comes on the Tipo Uno bike, in brown or black, suggested retail $72.50

Under saddle bag, also leather, available in black or brown, suggested retail $70.00

Reinforced leather toe straps with stainless steel buckles, suggested retail $20.00

Steel toe clips with leather covers to protect your shoes. Suggested retail $25.00

Leather pants clip $20.00

Leatherette handlebar tape, brown or black. Suggested retail $17.00

While we're waiting for the Tipo Uno bikes and accessories to arrive, a ton of other goodies have landed.
Our steel frame inventory is terrific. We have a good stock of Corsa Pista track frames, Corsa Strada, Countach and Mondonico Futura Leggero frames. Also, we have steel threadless (1") road forks. We also have a genuine steel threadless track fork with a flat crown and round blades.
Our first shipment of Selvino carbon framesets was largely sold out before they arrived. We just got in a new batch and we have all sizes in stock. If you are thinking about getting a new carbon road frameset this season, please consider our selvino. I don't think you will find a better riding or better priced carbon frame.

They tell me that it’s time to sober up a bit after the holidays and go to work. While I’ve been a sloth, our shipping companies have been quite busy. We have an embarrassment of riches.
Moda Chunky tape. We’ve been waiting for 3 of our most popular colors, Navy Blue, Natural and Celeste. They have finally arrived. The only color we’re missing is solid green. By the way, for you Italophiles (as well those of you who would like to display the colors of the Mexican and Hungarian flags) we have red-white-green chunky.
Carbon Selvino frames. They have arrived and almost all of them have been shipped out to shops hungry for a Torelli frame that’s chock full of carbon goodness. If you want one and need help finding a dealer who has a Selvino, gives us a call (805 484 8705) or send an email to todd@torelli.com. We have another shipment of Selvino framesets being kicked out late February or early March.
Also: Lots and lots of Torelli Smoothies (threadless-valved tubes) in 35, 48 and 60mm length valves. Bormio and Amalfi floor pumps and lots of Bormio stems.
Steel Italian frames. Mama Mia! More are on the way. The projected landing of the ship in the L.A. harbor with these beauties is January 29. Here’s what’s on board:
Being built: More Torelli Countach and Corsa Strada frames. That shipment should be ready for export from Bella Italia next week.
We should get another consignment of Bormio wheels with bladed spokes tomorrow, both Shimano and Campagnolo.
Coming: Torelli Extra-Lite tubes with 80mm valve stems.
It’s time to get ready to ride.

We posted pictures and information about our Bormio Road Pedals on the site. When you get to the page, you'll have to scroll down a bit.
Here's a picture:
We also started to put up info on our cables and housing. I'll do more, but at least the page isn't vacant anymore.
We have sold all of our first shipment of Corsa Pista frames. We have more leaving our shop in Italy on the 17th of December. If all goes well, we should have them late January.
We just got the shipping documents and invoice for our latest freight consolidation. It's going to be like Lotto here when this stuff lands. But, the timing of the shipping company couldn't be worse. The steamship lands in the Los Angeles harbor on Decemeber 22. I don't know if we can get the goods out of the harbor (clear customs, de-van the container, truck the goods up to Camarillo) before the New Year, given all the holidays. At worst, we'll ship first thing in January.
Here's the lowdown on the goodies coming:
November 28, 2007
They are here! The Corsa Pista (see the November 20 posting below) frames arrived yesterday morning. When we got to the warehouse yesterday morning the driver was waiting for us with his delivery from the Los Angeles harbor. We've already unpacked the order and sent most of the sold frames down to our painter, Jim Allen at The Cyclesmiths. We'll get the rest of the sold frames shipped to Jim this morning. We should start seeing the first painted frames back from the painter late next week. Then we'll go over each one, tapping, facing and checking alignment before we ship them to your favorite IBD (independent bicycle dealer, the heroes and backbones of the cycling industry). As I write this, there are still 2 unsold track frames in the order, a 58 and a 60. More are being built as I write this, but I don't have a firm ship date from Italy. Right now it looks like they leave Italy mid-December.
Also in that shipment were Corsa Strada and Countach frames built for 650c wheels in 44 and 46 cm sizes. Really, this is the best solution for riders needing smaller frames. Everything is to scale, fitting is better and the bike is lighter.
We got confirmation that we have a shipment of Torelli parts and accessories in the harbor. Lots of good stuff there. We should see these goods next week:
We also got news that our Torelli 2008 Selvino full-carbon frames are about to ship. They just need a coat of clear and they're about ready. They should ship December 7. Transit time is about 12 days, so we may be delivering the frames before Christmas. Maybe.
Here are 2 pictures of the frames after the decals have been applied. This first one is before they got any clear-coat. The second picture is after the decals have had a first shot of clear over them. As you can see from the second picture, after they get a full clear-coat the frames will have a glossy, beautiful appearance.

Here's what has been happening at Torelli over the last couple of weeks..
We've received many, many requests to produce a steel Italian track frame. We had a small artisan shop in Torino (Northwest Italy, at the base of the Alps) produce a sample which we showed at the Las Vegas Interbike show. Our Corsa Pista was a smash hit. We couldn't even bring the sample home as several shops insisted on buying it out of our booth at the end of the show. We did go ahead and have a small order produced and they will arrive in the Los Angeles harbor on Tuesday, November 20. It'll take about a week to clear customs and get the goods up to our shop. They are all coming unpainted and almost all of them are pre-sold to shops. We'll get them off to our painter first thing. As of this writing there is still a 58 and 60 cm frame unsold. Most of the frames have been ordered up by the shops for stock. So, if you want a beautiful, hand made Italian track frame you might want to contact your Torelli dealer and see if you can get your hands on one. We have a follow-up order being produced right now and it will probably be ready to ship in early December, making for a mid-February arrival.

Also in that shipment are more steel Torelli Countach and Corsa Strada road frames.
We also have 650c Corsa Strada and Countach frames in this shipment and there are still some unsold.
On another subject. For years we've been looking for an American chrome shop that would give us high-quality work and reasonably quick turnaround. As a company that's deeply committed to steel frames and custom finishing, this is very important to us. At last we've found our man! We've been getting 2-week turnaround from a plating shop that's almost at our doorstep. And, the quality is terrific. This isn't a cheap job where chrome is plated directly onto the steel. This is beautiful plating with a layer of copper and nickle under the chrome. Because chrome plate is porous, having the copper and nickle under the chrome not only makes for a smoother, more lustrous finish, it also fights rust. In the plating trade this super-high end chrome plating is called "Decorative Chrome". So, when you order up your Torelli or Mondonico, we can give you the chrome where you want it. And the quality will be in keeping with the fact that this is a handmade Torelli or Mondonico frame, deserving the very best.
